Tomatoes and Onions are staple of any kitchen. Whenever there’s a craving for for quick side dish this recipe comes handy. With minimum ingredients and lip smacking taste, this is everyone’s go to dish.

Tomato Onion Gravy

Tomato(finely chopped) – 1 cup
Onion(finely chopped) – 1 cup
Chilli powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric – pinch
Salt – to taste
Garam masala powder – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp


Take a kadai and pour oil into it. Add mustard and allow it to splutter. Add chopped onions and fry till golden. Add turmeric powder and mix well. Now add tomato and fry until tomato turns mushy. Now add chilli powder and garam masala and mix well.

Lastly add required amount of salt to taste. Give a good mix and you are ready to relish it. Tomato Onion gravy goes well with Chapathis, Rotis, steamed rice and Bread.
