Sun tan is a very tricky thing. Some people wait for summer all year long just to get tanned. While others try everything possible to get rid of the tan. There is very less that people are not aware of sun tan. But there is still much more that we need to know.
Ultraviolet rays of the sun are invisible and cannot be felt. The best way to protect your skin is to seek shade when the harmful Ultraviolet rays are at their peak. Always wear protective clothing, a broad-brimmed hat and sunglasses while going out. Here are a few simple things that you can follow.
Plan your day
Make a note to plan your day well in advance. Avoid sun from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm. It is best to wear loose-fitting clothes that cover as much skin as possible. Choose closely woven fabrics that cast a dense shadow.
Protection is the key
Protect your eyes. Wear sunglasses that wrap around the sides of the face so that UV rays don’t reach eyes. If your skin burns easily, the best way to protect it is to use sunscreen. Reapply it every two hours. Always apply sunscreen before stepping out.
Few Tips to get rid of Tan
Prepare a mixture of yogurt and lemon juice and apply it daily on your skin before bath. Rubbing peeled potato skin over the affected area helps reduce tan.
Applying cucumber on the affected area is also good. Prepare a paste of sandalwood powder, coconut and almond oil. Apply it on your skin for half an hour and wash later.
Applying Aloe Vera gel daily helps protect skin from tanning. Papaya is a natural skin-lightening agent. Rub papaya pulp on tanned skin.
