Minced meat – 500 grams
Oil – 2 tbsp
Onion (finely sliced) – 2
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Red Chilli powder – ½ tsp
Green chillies (slit) – 2
Garam Masala – ½ tsp
Water – 1 ½ cups
Tomato (finely chopped) – 3
Coriander leaves (chopped) – 2 tbsp
Pepper powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Salt to taste
Mince the meat thickly. Only then will the keema turn best. First, wash mutton keema or minced meat and strain out excess water from it. Take a wok, add oil and heat it. Add sliced onions, green chillies and sauté until onions turn golden.
Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté till the raw smell is gone. Take mutton keema and add into this mixture. Roast until keema changes color and all water is dried up. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until oil appears on the sides.
Throw in tomatoes, garam masala, pepper powder. Saute well until tomatoes turn mushy. Add about one and a half cups of water and mix well. Pressure cook the keema for 3 whistles on low flame. Or you can also cook it in the same wok until keema turns soft.
If cooking on pressure cooker, wait till the steam releases by itself. Now add coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes if any water is remaining. Enjoy with roti, paratha or steamed rice.
Note: You can happily add green peas, butter or any other vegetable of your choice into this. Add them lastly just before closing the lid of the pressure cooker. Give a good mix and cook.
