If you are eagerly waiting for April Fool pranks by Google, then you shall be disappointed. The very famous pranks that google plays with its readers on the 1st of April every year will not happen tomorrow. The company has decided to skip this tradition to maintain the seriousness of Covid 19 across the globe.
Business Insider reported this based on an internal mail written to managers. It instructed google teams to skip its annual tradition of running gags across its various services. “Take the year off from that tradition out of respect for all those fighting the COVID 19 pandemic. Our highest goal right now is to be helpful to people, so let’s save the jokes for next April, which will undoubtedly be a whole lot brighter than this one”, said Google chief marketing officer Lorraine Twohill in the memo.
Along with this Maharashtra state government has taken serious decision with regard to April Fool’s day. Anybody who tries to play pranks with regard to corona or spread fake news in the guise of April Fool will be arrested and booked. The warning was given by the state’s home minister Anil Deshmukh. With steps like these, April Fool’s day is probably going to be a lot more serious than every year. Hoping Covid 19 will end its vendetta this year and help people live a lot more peacefully.
