Pasta is a simple yet quick snack that helps you treat your unexpected guests to a delightfully light meal, loaded with peppers and tomato.
2 cups durum wheat pasta of your choice
½ bowl of red bell peppers, chopped
½ bowl of green bell peppers, chopped
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon American flour
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons green chilli sauce
½ bowl of tomato puree
1 teaspoon chilli flakes
1 teaspoon oregano
¼ bowl of shredded processed cheese for garnish
Heat sufficient water with half a teaspoon of salt in a deep non-stick skillet and once the water starts bubbling add in the pasta. Drizzle a little oil into the non-stick skillet and keep stirring time and again so that the pasta doesn’t stick together. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes and drain out once done. Pour cold water over the pasta so as to avoid it sticking together after taking off from the heat.
Now in a wok drizzle some olive oil and add in the bell peppers and stir fry for a minute or two. Add chilli powder and stir fry followed by salt to taste, now add in the tomato sauce, green chilli sauce followed by tomato puree and mix all well. Let it cook on simmer for 1 or 2 minutes. Now take half a glass of water and add the American flour to it and stir well till it dissolves. Pour this to the tomato puree mixture and keep stirring. You will see the sauce thickening. Add in the prior cooked and drained out pasta to this, followed by oregano and chilli flakes. Take off the heat and garnish with cheese over it and enjoy. Serve it immediately.]]>
