When Mc Donalds and other food joints made their way into people’s lives, it was not just burgers that were a hit. The dessert section with Choco Lava cake was a huge success as well. Just pinching the beautiful muffin that oozes hot chocolate has always been a visual treat to many. Why not try doing it at home? It’s not that difficult after all.

Choco Lava Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

Dark chocolate – 120 gms

Eggs – 2

Sugar – 1/4 cup

Icing sugar – 1 tsp

Cherry – few

Butter – 110 gms

Egg Yolks – 2

Refined Flour – 1 tbsp

Mint spring – a few

Method:

Firstly chop dark chocolate roughly. Melt butter and add chopped chocolate together on a double boiler. Whisk them well till they become very fluffy. Once they turn very fluffy, pour the chocolate mix in the eggs slowly while continuously whisking on medium speed. Remove the whisk and add 1 tbsp of flour. Whisk it again.

Meanwhile, baste the ramekins with butter and dust with flour. Pour the mixture in the ramekins and bake in preheated oven at 230 c for 7-8 mins. Remove and let them cook for 2 mins.

You can serve the choco lava cake garnished with cherry, mint spring and dusted icing sugar. The other option is to carefully de-mould it. Dust with icing sugar and garnish with cherry & mint spring. Serve immediately for lava to flow out. Garnish is an open ended option in this case. Fee free to experiment with fresh or dry fruits as well.
